Lexmark Scanner - "cannot retrieve application.

Problem

My Lexmark 5400 series has just recently stopped working. It says "cannot retrieve application list". The printer and fax work just fine. I just installed the new Norton Internet security. I think that this might have affected it. Any solutions?

Solution


  1. I found that updating the drivers, off Lexmark's website, took care of the problem --
  2. doesn't work... try downloading the latest drivers from lexmark.com
  3. give exceptions to the anti virus for the printer software
