I have a Lexmark X5495 that has been connected directly to my computer and works great. I just bought a usb print server to eliminate the need for cords. The print server is plugged into the router and printer and my laptop can see the server. But, the server tells me the printer is offline when I try to install the network printer or update certain settings related to the printer.
Solution
- Disconnect from the net and turn off your firewall while trying to install.
- that is software problem with Lexmark. Contatct them for the specific driver. Even your server home page might have a new driver for this.
